Best place to leave my New Year’s card, since it will serve for dissecting the project.
Most of the « hard work » was drawn into Adobe Fresco as a 1 second, 12 images animation, left on a simple square grid. SEGA obviously came as an inspiration, and so do some of the bauhaus typefaces, but I tried to draw from scratch, pencil on the grid.
Once animation was done I used Rush to build a simple 15s loop that I could use on Instagram, but was told that my type was not obvious enough and hard to decypher.
So I send it to After Effects, where I added both a timeremap + loopOut() expression, a few keyed hue/sat effects and an echo effect to get this accumulation style.
